Promising news for peanut allergy sufferers

The results of two separate studies emerged during March showing the controlled reintroduction of peanut in sensitive individuals produced a 70% and 80% reduction in peanut allergy. These are significant and exciting results for what has been understood to be a life-long allergy.

The latter study by Dr Mimi Tang and colleagues in Melbourne combined 18 months of oral immunotherapy (minute amounts of peanut given daily) with probiotics.
